Hi, I’m Simone,

I am a Naturopath who lives in Black Rock, Melbourne. You can visit me at the Good Health Group Clinic in Brighton East but I also consult online to people all over Australia.

Growing up, I was always sick with ear infections, eczema, rashes, colds & flu, allergies, stomach pain, constipation and I was extremely sensitive to the smell of chemicals. As a result, I developed an interest in Nutrition and the impact it had on health. In hindsight, I should have gone on to study in this area, however, at school I was good at Maths and Chemistry and this led me to a career in Chemical Engineering. As a Chemical Engineer, I worked in Research and Development in the processed food industry. Here I got to see firsthand what was going into our food and how the ingredients were manipulated to sell more and cost less.

When I started my family, I had a break from working in the corporate environment. I was concerned about the impact of processed food on children’s health and their growing bodies and I was always researching various supplements and the benefits of different foods. It wasnt until after the birth of my third child and I was looking for something to stimulate my mind, that I thought about officially studying Nutrition. However, 6 years part-time, seemed like a really long time!

One day, I came across a quote by Earl Nightingale:

Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

And that day, I enrolled to study Nutrition. As I was studying, I found that I was envious of the Naturopath students because I wanted to learn Herbal Medicine too. It wasn’t long before I transferred into a Naturopathy degree and added another 2 years to my study (8 years in total).

My Approach

As a Naturopath, my goal is to help others achieve optimal health. My Engineering, Chemistry, Research and Problem-solving background as well as my history of health problems makes me ideally suited to help others on their health journey. An initial consultation will dive into your health history and explore any issues that you need help with. A physical assessment and functional pathology testing may be required to help investigate any potential issues. A unique treatment plan will be developed which may incorporate a combination of herbal medicine, diet modifications, nutritional supplements and lifestyle advice.
